BackScripture:
1 John 1:7 – But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
As far as John is concerned in this passage, you are either in the light or in darkness. If you are in the light, you are a member of God’s family. If you are in darkness, you do not have anything in common with God because there is no darkness in God at all. Those who walk in the light, that is, those who are Christians, have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ continually cleanses them from all sin.
Challenge:
The light of God’s Word exposes sin in your heart. When you read your bible regularly, you discover how God wants you to live your life in relationship to Him and to others. His Word illuminates the areas you are not walking properly so you can correct those behaviors and have fellowship with others without feeling guilty. Your challenge this week is to take a serious look at your lifestyle and ask yourself if the Lord is completely pleased with how you are living? Are you walking in the light as He is in the light? Are you walking cleansed of all sin and unrighteousness?
