    Week of Prayer

Prayer is a privilege given to us by our creator and an expected service by our Lord Jesus. A weekly prayer format is given below to bring some structure and guidance to maximize our effectiveness in prayer. Scriptures are offered each day to assist us in prayer on the spiritual battle front. It is our desire to strive to be a people of prayer before the Lord in our service to Him and eager to see His power and majesty shown to all.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. – 2 Chronicles 7:14

    Wednesday – Defeating the Enemy

Consider a day of fasting and prayer for spiritual preparation for salvation of souls and pulling down strongholds such as:

    • The occult - worship God in spirit and truth  (John 4:23)
    • Wicked authorities - Jesus is Lord of all (Colossians 1:15-20)
    • Deceit/hypocrisy - Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6)
    • The flesh/human effort/pride/independence from God- our righteousness is filthy rags before God (Isaiah 64:6)
    • Idols/sexual perversion/material things/self – come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord, do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you (II Corinthians 6:17)
    • Religion (outward life) hypocrisy, self improvement, morality – for if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live (Romans 8:12-13)
    • The myth of partial surrender/partial obedience to God - Jesus must be Lord of all or not of all (Luke 6:46)

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them (spirit of antichrist), because He who is in you is greater that he who is in the world.”  - I John 4:4

“… in humility correcting those …..if God perhaps will grant them repentance….that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.” - II Timothy 2:25-26

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…” - II Corinthians 10:4-5

    Thursday – Praise/Thanksgiving

“pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”  -  I Thessalonians 5:17-18

“The Lord reigns; let the peoples tremble! … Let them praise Your great and awesome name – He is holy,” - Psalm 99:1-3

    Friday – A Continent

Focus on a different continent each week in your prayers – covering the world in prayer every seven weeks!

Asia, North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Australia, Antarctica.

“Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!”  - Psalm 107:31

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come…”  - II Peter3:9-10

    Saturday – Israel

“For the Lord’s portion is His people; Jacob(Israel) is the place of His inheritance.” - Deuteronomy 32:9-10
